Oct. 20 Rehearsal Location Change
On Saturday, October 20, 2018, all Saturday ensembles will rehearse at First Presbyterian Church of Savannah. All rehearsals will be held at their usual times. Everyone must bring a music stand!
AYO to Perform “Music With a Mission” Concert on Nov. 4
The Armstrong Youth Orchestra is performing a concert in November as part of the “Music With a Mission” series at First Presbyterian Church of Savannah. The concert is free, and an offering will be collected to support continuing hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico.
No DSE Rehearsal Oct. 13
The Debut Strings Ensemble will not have rehearsal on Saturday, October 13th. All other ensembles will have regular rehearsal Oct. 13 and 14.
Applications for AYO Young Artist Concerto Competition Due Nov. 11, 2018
The competition winner will perform in the Spring Semester Concert accompanied by the AYO. The application deadline is November 11, 2018, and applications must be handed in at rehearsal to either Ms. Kristi or Ms. Jones. NO EXCEPTIONS!!
Rehearsals Begin Sept. 8 & 9
The fall semester of the Armstrong Youth Orchestra begins Sept. 8 & 9, 2018. Unless otherwise noted, rehearsals take place in the Fine Arts Building on the Armstrong campus of Georgia Southern University in Savannah. Congratulations to Eliza DeRienzo, 2018 AYO Concerto Competition Winner
Flutist Eliza DeRienzo was the 2018 winner of the AYO Concerto Competition. Eliza, daughter of Frank and Kristen DeRienzo, is a sophomore at Georgia Southern University – Armstrong Campus pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance.
