Scales and arpeggios
All scales and arpeggios are to be MEMORIZED. Scales listed are your starting note. Do not transpose to concert pitch. The GMEA pattern is acceptable.
Bassoon: Major Scales on Eb, Ab, and G major, (two octaves preferred), all with arpeggios;
Chromatic Scale Two octaves on F
Solo Piece (played without accompaniment)
Students should choose a solo piece that demonstrates their best ability. Please discuss this with your band director or your private teacher. Your GMEA Lyrical and/or Technical etude from last year would be a good choice.

Students will be asked to sight-read one or two examples at the RYO level.

Bassoon: Major Scales on G, D, A major, all with arpeggios; Chromatic Scale Three octaves on Bb.
